During the month of March, Waterberg Wave FM covered a number of programmes, aimed at disseminating relevant information to the local Vaalwater community and its surrounds. Apart from the daily ERP programme, run by Letticia Mahlatji and aimed at educating the communities on the importance of striking a balance between conservation and poverty alleviation, the radio also had various shows relevant to nature and biodiversity, World Wildlife Day, Endangered species and various programmes focusing on the contentions COVID-19, and how this affects our daily lives. Waterberg Waves is an essential tool, integral to how as ERP, we empower communities living adjacent to conservation spaces where we operate. Through disseminating information via the radio station, communities are better placed to make informed decisions on various aspects that affect both their wildlife conservation and the socio-economic aspects of their day to day activities.
